Eric Wampner's Lame Home Page

I've been meaning to make some sort of real home page since the dawn of the web. Here is my latest no-talent stand-in.

Who Are You?

Well, at work for a "major power generation equipment provider" I'm a "Senior Software Systems Engineer". Yes, we just sort of made that up, but its on my business cards. :-)

Outside of work, I'm mainly a collection of hobbies, toys, and circles of friends associated with them.

What Do You Want?

Well, I guess I lack any really serious ambition in life. Its definitely a character flaw.

What Do You Do With All Your Copious Free Time?

Hobbies My Man, Hobbies. I'm a member of Central Florida Rifle and Pistol ClubJapanese Anime Club of Orlando ,   and Anime Gaijin America . I take a lot of heat because some people in JACO and AGA detest each other and figure I'm playing some sort of game, but I just try and enjoy my friends.

A long time ago, before JACO imploded, Dade Bell came up with "Giant Bri-O" and the Epcot Federated Army. Its too complicated to explain, but those of us still around from those days have "alter egos". I'm known as "The Finger". My good friend Ken Nabbe is Joey Snackpants Esquire. He's got one of those  LiveJournal things going. You can see some of the other EFA members in the  JACO Roll Call . There were other members, but they're in AGA,  Anime Sushi , or moved on to real life.

I do four anime related conventions a year, in the early spring Anime Gaijin America runs a free-play video game area at Megacon while JACO and Anime Sushi run anime showing rooms, a music video contest and a costume contest. In the late spring I assist with JACON which is run at the University of Central Florida. In the summer I am significantly responsible for Anime Festival Orlando. And in the fall I try to see  Anime Weekend Atlanta each year cause of cool people like  Daric Scott Kozlowski Jackson (AKA Jingoro) and  Patrick Bohnet .

I'm addicted to Anime Music Videos . How badly? Well, I have well over 2TB of disk space in my computer room to hold them, is that bad enough?

I used to be be in the University of Central Florida Robotics Club when I was in school, I still have a number of friends who dream of building machines which run amuck and kill thousands of people. Those with gumption are working on  BattleBots , my best roommate ever, Dean Du Bois competed in several events, and his robot can be seen at the  Team Girder Website .

Enough Yack, Lets see some pictures!

JACON 2004 - University of Central Florida, May 21-23. While the event was great, I haven't been terribly impressed by my pictures. Still, you may enjoy them.

AWA3 was held Nov 14, 1997. First convention I have pictures from, just recently scanned in.Old Skool JACO.

FITCON2004, April 2-4, 2004. After Ken had such a good time last year at the smallest anime convention in Florida, I decided to tag along with him. No Lines!

Megacon 2004, March 5-7, 2004. Hate the convention, love the friends!

JACO Halloween Party 2003! A spectactual success!

JACON2003, May 30th, 31st, and June 1st. Another great year!

AWA 2002 pics shot with my Nikon Coolpix 2500. Its cool for carrying around, but I constantly miss my Canon Rebel 2000 35mm.

Team Girder competed in Robocide 2003 and I was there to to take pictures.

Anime Gaijin America ran a free-play video game area at Megacon 2003

GACK, I'm tired.

There's only about 6-10 more pages of mildly interesting information, quotes, and stuff I think is cool. But, hey Its not going to happen anytime soon. If you care, email me at eww@wampner.org.

Are you a WAMPNER?

Hey, if you're thinking I've grabbed your domain name, you're right. Send me some email and when I get around it I'll try and put together a list of of net-enabled wampners. ^-^
